I aim to make objects of wonder, joy and contemplation. In a sense, crafting magic.

It started with the question

How can I create art that represents the dynamic beauty of our world?

I never tire of the truly magical moments in every day. The way light dances across rippling water, dappled light filters through the trees, or light transforms colours in the landscape. As an artist I’ve wondered, how can I harness light, and work with it creatively, to re-present these incredibly delicate, yet dramatic, ephemeral moments?

Light excites glass. It gives colours a vibrancy unlike any other material and when these colours are suspended inside crystal clear glass, the refractive qualities of light, changes what we see. When this glass is coldworked to a high sheen, the internal profile of the piece acts like a mirror. What at first appears to be a simple form, in fact reveals a complex image within, that appears to be moving.

My current projects in designing and making sculptural, wall-mounted glass installations bring together all of my training in painting, sculpture, installation, lighting, architecture, glass making and design.
